Difference Between Cosmetic And Reconstructive Plastic Surgery


Did you know that Plastic surgery is being discovered in India?
Well, yes India is the originator of Plastic Surgery. It is discovered by Sushruta in 600 BC.
Plastic surgery is being divided into two forms, I.e. Cosmetic Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive plastic surgery.

Let’s see the difference between the two: -
Cosmetic Plastic Surgery
Reconstructive Plastic Surgery
Cosmetic Plastic Surgery is being done with a motive to beautify one’s face and parts of it. Give it a desired look.
Reconstructive Plastic Surgery is being done with the motive for to reconstruct the body part. 


Lip correction, Nose correction, Shape and geometrical correction. 
Cleft Lip, Pallet repair, Breast reconstruction are the examples of Reconstructive Surgery.


End goal of plastic surgery is to maximizing the cosmetic end result.
End goal of reconstructive surgery is to repair the defected or broken part of the body.

So, these are the difference between Cosmetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery.
