Understand Rhinoplasty Step by Step
Nose decides your face’s beauty. According to researches,
80% of your facial beauty depends on your nose. Many people with a cute face
but not matching nose can’t achieve the beauty they can. That’s the reason many
Bollywood and Hollywood actresses get their Rhinoplasty done and reached to the
full potential of their face.
What Is Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty, also known as Nose Job is a surgical procedure
for altering and reconstructing the nose. There are two types of plastic
surgery used – reconstructive surgery that restores the form and functions of
the nose and cosmetic surgery that changes the appearance of the nose.
Generally, Rhinoplasty is done to correct breathing-related
problems and the problems related to the nose or correct disfigurement
resulting from trauma or birth defects. It can also be done for cosmetic
reasons, which will change the nose's shape and appearance.
How it is done?
Once you have decided to have Rhinoplasty or a nose job, you
need to visit your plastic surgeon and then tell him or her about the things
you don’t like with your current nose and tell them about your desire shape of
the nose. The surgeon will evaluate the structures of your nose and other
facial features. After this evaluation, he or she can tell you if your
expectations are realistic.
Then the surgeon will consider your overall health and
should discuss with you the risks, recovery time, and costs involved.
Then he or she will discuss various techniques about the
surgery. Once you decide to move further, your surgeon should tell you exactly
what he or she proposes to do.
Procedure
Rhinoplasty doesn’t ask you to stay overnight in the
hospital for the treatment. It can be done with the help of local anaesthesia.
The anaesthesia will put you into a deep sleep and you will feel your nose
numb. This will not let you feel any pain whatsoever.
During operation, the surgeon makes cuts within the
nostrils. In more difficult cases, the surgeon may also make cuts across the
base of the nose. The surgeon then reshapes the inner bone and cartilage to
produce a more pleasing appearance.
Recovery
It can take you two to three weeks to get back to the normal
life with a brand-new nose of yours. You can wear a Nasal sprint for the first
week after the surgery. You might feel swelling and some bruising around the
eyes after surgery for two to three days. It is recommended for you to avoid
strenuous activity for three to six weeks after surgery. You may return to your
social activities as soon as within two to three weeks.
